The Plug and the in-line Socket have their own pages on this site. The wire area is 2.5 mm² i.e. bigger than 14 AWG. Do not let a thick insulation fool you, ask for the cross section area of the wire. If the cord is coiled, the wire area is less than 1 mm² or if bigger, it works more or less like a pulling spring!
